I'm a Facebook RockStar!

No, really I am! LOL! So I have a confession to make. I've been secretly annoyed (or not so secretly annoyed if you know me) with Facebook. Can there be anything more in your face than those guys? Seriously? Everybody is up in everyone's business! Sheez! Of course, that was until yesterday. It's amazing how one day can change your view forever. So can I just say that Facebook ROCKS? Can I? Hehehe! Cuz I'm gonna! FACEBOOK ROCKS!!!! Wahooo! And seriously, it does.

So yes, if you want to become an YA author one day you do have to join the myspace/facebook phenomenon and you do have to pretend like you like it until you actually do. They grow on you, promise....

OK, so why all the facebook love now, you ask? Muhahaha! Let me tell you! So here's the thing, I totally walked into church yesterday a massive RockStar. I'm not kidding. Never before had people gone to such lengths to wish me Happy Birthday! It was like ultra cool and totally something I never, ever expected. Especially, to a girl who has up until now stayed in the closet about her birthday and kept it a horrible, deep, dark secret... LOL! Not because of my age, but because I have this massively awful habit of never remembering other people's birthdays. So to appease myself, I never tell anyone mine! Tada! LOL! Now, I don't have to feel bad when Karma comes around and bites me in my bum, because I don't expect anyone to remember anyway, cuz I haven't told them! See? Evil genius plan I tell you!

Except that's the thing! EVERYONE knew it was my birthday!!! EVERYONE! LOL! And you know what--also little secret--It was cool! So cool! Cooler than anything I have ever experienced before. And WAY cooler than I would've thought it would be had someone told me, "Two hundred people are all going to hug you and kiss your cheek and shower you with cards and love when you walk through that door today."

Yikes! Had a known beforehand I probably would've groaned and died of embarrassment. But as it was... I didn't get a chance to be embarrassed. Because everywhere I looked my friends were turning me around and hugging me. I Laughed. Like crazy laughed. Especially when I realized they'd all figured it out on Facebook. LOL! Facebook? Who knew? Seriously? LOL! But I gotta say, it was wonderful to have your birthday remembered. Even more now, because I've become such a reclusive hermit writing books that Church and the internet is my only social life! LOL!

So thank you! Thank you! To everyone who said happy birthday here! And thanks to all those who found my wall on facebook or at church and said happy birthday! It was a wonderful birthday. And I do have 12 more wishes for anyone who was counting... I do. They're in a notebook next to my hand. But honestly, I've been so blessed this year... I think i'm going to save them for next.

LOVE YOU ALL! Jenni

  5. I was counting. And I was like, 'where are her last 12 wishes?' Is she trying to pretend she's only 20, instead of 32? But, I guess I will be able to overlook you not wishing them if you're going to be all noble instead. Glad you had a good birthday.

  10. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful day! Everybody deserves to have at least a few memorable birthdays. I had to laugh about the whole remembering b-day thing because I'm really bad about it too and I don't advertise my b-day usually either, but I'm getting better. :)

  17. Happy birthday! That must have been so wonderful to get all that love.
I also don't remember birthday and feel very, very embarrassed when others do know about mine.

  18. Hope your day was as sweet and fun as you are!

Mandatory Facebook time is another reason I don't write YA. :)

  19. I am still holding out on FB. I don't have the time to blog like I like - I know I can't add that in. How do you manage and write?

  20. You deserve to have everyone remember your birthday. I am glad that you had a good one. Sorry I wasn't there to give you a hug and card. BTW, how do you juggle all your kids and cleaning and still be able to have you time? You seem like wonder woman. NO FAIR!!

  21. Lori-Thanks! And YAY! I'm glad I'm not the only one with Birthday issues!

Angie--Aww.. thanks! LOL! AND run from YA Run away, run away, run away! LOL!

Debbie--Little bit at a time! LOL! And the best thing about Facebook is it runs itself. Whenever someone comments on my wall, i try to comment back. end of story. UNLESS I get like 30 gazillion Happy birthday wishes then I just let it go! lol

Yolanda--LOL! Thanks! You're so sweet! And hello? Did you miss something? I don't do housework. LOL! 6 kids=6 slaves. They do it for me! Gasp! I know, what am I thinking? Making them work before computer games and xbox.. I'm so mean! LOL!
