The New Me

So the quality is bad... but at least you can see my smile! Lol!

As a new mom of seven, and suffering from preeclampsia, I discovered it was time for a new lease on life. Call it a midlife crisis or whatever. Lol! But I'm 33, and all at once it clicked. I wanted to be new. I wanted to be happy and fresh and free and me. The real me. The me that's been dying to come out for years now.

So here she is. Jenni James, mother, wife, friend, author, painter, actress, director, household goddess extraordinairre...

She's also a whole lot lighter than she used to be, and that's still dropping. However dropping isn't always a good thing. No really. If you're friends on facebook with me, then you may have read my post about how I lost my skirt in church last Sunday..? Yep. Losing weight isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Sometimes when you stand up, your clothes don't want to join you anymore. At least that's what happened to me, in front of the whole congregation, while the speaker was speaking, and my baby was crying and all I wanted to do was get out of there. Except, i didn't count on my skirt not wanting to join me. Nearly gave a couple of old men heart attacks too.

*sigh* Thank goodness my slip was on, or I'm not sure I'd have ever gone back! Lol!

At least with the new me, I can also have a few new chuckles too.

  12. How funny - for us anyway. Most today don't even know what an underslip is. Great talking to you yesterday xx

  13. Yay you! I'm a *cough* tiny bit older than you and have recently come to the same conclusion. I've simply decided to be comfortable in my skin.
*raises coffee cup* Here's to you, sweetie.

  14. That takes me back... I once walked into a sacrament meeting in front of a whole row of YSA (all sitting at the back), to my seat where my husband and small children were waiting for me, to have a kind sister whisper to me that my skirt was tucked into my tights at the back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hard though it was, I discovered that you don't actually die of embarrasment - and lets face it - you wouldn't want that to be the last thing that everyone remembers about you - so thank goodness!!!
