Here is the painting I've been slaving over the past few days, which is why you haven't seen me. This is what I really do, for those who don't know me... I paint portraits. Something I LOVE doing! I was commissioned to paint this sort of last minute for my good friend Dee Shover. It's of her hubby and his favorite dog, that passed away last year. There is something so magical in being able to capture favorite memories like this... and whenever I finish a painting, I'm eternally grateful the Lord gave me this gift to share with others.
And some of my favorite people to share my talents with are my kiddos. This is a painting Dalen did that ended up winning the yearbook cover contest for his middle school this year. I was really excited to see how easily he's been able to pick up painting.

(The secret to a budding artist is a good quality paint brush. If you have an young artist i'd advise to go out and spend some money on some nice brushes. You'll be surprised at the great work they'll be able to produce--plus it'll convince them to finish the painting, because they won't get discouraged.)
